What A Week!!!

This has been an utterly exhausting week - and it was supposed to be short!!  At work we are in the middle of all these office moves.  We are doing construction on several floors of the World Trade Center - and we just finished two of them, so we have to move everyone off of two old floors onto these newly remodeled floors - as well as swap several floors around so certain departments are together ... not to mention we are losing all three of our "temporary" floor leases so those people have to move too ..... all by the end of February!!  My department - ahem, me and my co--worker Teresa - are solely in charge of these moves (and she's out of town for a week!).  Last Tuesday I worked 7AM until 1030PM.  I have to do the same thing this Tuesday AND Thursday ... while Thursday will actually take longer than 1030 because it is such a complicated move.  Ugh - I am so dreading this week.  If I can just get through February.....

Speaking of which, I gave the Relief Society lesson this morning on living today and not waiting for next month, next year etc. - but with weeks like these two I can certainly say I am excited for this month to be OVER!!

The good thing out of all this craziness is that I am racking up the over-time... which is good news since Will and I are officially going to San Diego April 29th-May 3rd.  Will's birthday is May 2nd - so we're going to go to Disney Land on his birthday (it's free on your birthday this year!).  I am so excited to see the Pacific and eat some In N Out. Yum!

As a side note - the wind has been crazy this week!!  At work, I deliver files twice a day across the street to the Colorado State Bank building where we also lease office space.  Well, Tuesday the wind was blowing so strong that I dropped an entire dolly of files in the middle of Broadway while crossing the street.  I'm talking like 4 boxes of files plus one mail tote totally falling forward.  I lost a bunch of papers in the wind - and 6 people (including the FedEx guy) ran over to help me.  It was SO awful.  To top it off, the dolly hit my shin when it toppled over and I have a huge painful bruise on my leg.  What a week!!

Friday to ease some tension - Will and I went back to that school to shoot some hoops.  Man we suck!  It sure has been a while.  In our defense, it WAS windy!

I've also decided I need a hobby - because this is how I spend most of my time.......

To use up all my free time I've decided to go back to school full-time in the fall.  I'm still going to work full-time as well at Noble Energy - but I'm currently applying to University of Colorado Denver to the Business School and they have online and evening classes.  The campus is uber close to my work so it'll be perfect!  The only one suffering from this will be my poor kitty Abby ... she'll have to find someone else to cuddle with every evening!

I'll keep you posted on my application status .... if I make it through this week that is.

Sunday

Today was a definite good Sunday.  Lately, Will's been having to work a lot of Sundays so it's been nice to attend two weeks in a row together.  Last week I was given a calling of Relief Society Secretary - so now I definitely have to go even if Will has to work (I think the Bishop planned it this way since he asked me if I attend without Will and I said "I'm working on it").

It's been a relaxing day though.  We are powering through The Office.  I think we average about 4-5 episodes per day on the weekends and 1-2 episodes on weekdays.  We really slaved in the kitchen for dinner with bagels and cream cheese - go us!  We did go on a walk around the neighborhood as well.  Beautiful (COLD!) sunny day.  There is an giant-sized, abandoned middle school just around the corner from our apartment we're fascinated with.  I want to know why its closed.  It's such a LARGE school.  During the day its a lot easier to walk around - not so creepy.  It's all boarded up - and at night its particularly creepy because there's always a few random lights on inside.  Although, there are a few basketball courts outside we might start utilizing when we're bored.  Every time I say "I wonder why its closed" Will always replied "Probably Aspestis".  Right.

Posing for the camera with Abby.

Beautiful weather!
Welcome to Colorado: Freezing but still needing
sunglasses ... daily.
Creepy School.
Basketball courts I swear we'll use soon.
Boarded up windows.

Yay for one more day without work (for me)!  Thank you Washington/Lincoln for having birthdays in the month of February.  I appreciate the day off.  Happy President's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!

This has been an awesome weekend for Valentine's because I get a four day weekend (not Will though sadly) ... but we were able to spend all day Friday together and all day Sunday! Friday wasn't so relaxing but it was fun!  I am officially Mrs. Brawn - as legally recognized by the State of Colorado (finally).  We went to the DMV Friday morning and luckily it took less than an hour!  I have lived here a year and a half - and I now finally have a Colorado license!  After the DMV we went to see Coraline in 3D which was awesome!  Tim Burton's movies are always a bit weird for me because they're a little creepy - but I really liked Coraline - and the 3D was so good!  I kept peeking under my 3D glasses to see what it looked like without.  Way fun movie!

Saturday Will worked until 5pm so that gave me a chance to hit up Target to get his card and some Valentine's treats.  I love Funfetti cake - so I made some Valentine's Funfetti Cupcakes. Yum!  For our date, we had reservations at Landry's Seafood.  So good!!  We loved the creme brulee!  Someday I'm going to get a creme brulee torch so I can make it myself!  After a long dinner we went to see Confessions of a Shopaholic - which was also good!  Definitely a good weekend for movies!

I must also add that Will got me my first giant heart-shaped box of chocolates! Surprisingly, I've never gotten one before! I usually just get flowers for valentine's day.  He mentioned, after watching me eat them all weekend, that there probably is a reason I haven't gotten one before - because I keep eating them all of them!!  Nice husband, huh?  In my defense, there are a lot of half eaten ones!  This particular box didn't come with a "legend" so it's trial and error for which chocolates I eat.  After this weekend, I definitely feel a sugar headache.

Fun at the 3D movie

I forgot to take a picture BEFORE the funfetti
cupcakes got eaten.

Here is the not-so-pretty after picture.

We hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day!!

The past week....

This past week has been pretty good .... despite me being sick a couple days.  We drove up to Cheyenne, WY one day to pick up our new love seat (matches the other one we have) - when I moved in my full size couch didn't fit so now we have two love seats instead.  Our new kitty is keeping us entertained, and we pretty much spent this week watching The Office and lounging in our "new living room".

I think Will is getting tired of this pose....
that or he thinks he's funny.
I've never seen a cat voluntarily crawl into a crate....
...But Abby really likes to!
She also likes to watch squirrels out the window.
Will on our new couch!  We don't have to sit on one anymore.
We each get our own! : )
Matching Pajamas.
I think the new couch has been designated "Will's"
... and Abby's (in the background).

We had a good week ... and we hope you did too!

Wii Game Night

Last Sunday Will's family came over for dinner and what turned into Wii Game Night.  Wii is a lot more fun with a group of people.  For dinner we had what I would call my classic "Fall Dinner" ... but apparently it works in January too: Chili, Cornbread and Apple Crisp.  Yum!

....and bowling.
