"Ass in a Lawn Chair - Feet in the Sand..."

Ah. Summer.

Yesterday was an awesome day at the lake with the fam.
We joined Will's parents and sister (and Jax) for some jet skiing and relaxing at Cherry Creek Reservoir.
It was awesome.

Good start to Summer.

One day older and wiser too....

My hubby spoiled me this weekend for my 24th birthday (which was on Father's Day). We went to an AWESOME dinner at the Melting Pot on Saturday night to celebrate. I believe the photos speak for themselves:

So delicious - you MUST get the cookie's n cream marshmallow creme fondue with milk chocolate (not dark) if you go.
We celebrated at Will's parents on Sunday with Red Velvet cake.
My favorite!
Gifts from the hubster:
Digital Scale and Healthy Cookbook
Gotta work off those birthday pounds! ; )
Pretty new Coach Purse and Wallet to replace my stolen ones:

Thanks to all for the birthday wishes! I had a wonderful 24th birthday.

I love you, Will.

Greek for a Day

Today Will and I went to the Annual Greek Festival at the nearby Greek Orthodox Church. For 3 summers now I have seen tons of cars/traffic and people there during the big festival in June, but this year we finally went to check it out! It was AWESOME! Sadly, we had big dinner reservations at the Melting Pot tonight (but not sad, cause it was so good!)- so it was too late in the afternoon to eat tons of the delicious looking food at the Greek Festival, but next year we know to bring our appetites!

It was such a sunny, beautiful (HOT) day. Great day to be Greek for sure! Fun fact: Will's great-grandma (his dad's side) is full Greek, so whatever part that makes him....you can do the math.

However many hundreds of times I have driven by the big Gold Greek dome, I finally got to go inside today - and honestly, it was breath-taking! Totally did not expect such color inside! The video below (the second one) documents it.

Fun times at the Denver Greek Festival. We bought a little oil painting (seen above) and hopefully will get more matching ones in years to come. By the way, dinner at the Melting Pot was delish tonight, and I have pictures on it for tomorrow. For now, Happy Birthday to ME (tomorrow)!

Back from Seattle

Will and I got back from Washington State last night. It was an eventful trip, to say the least. It started out extremely stressful - but by the end we can say we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. The purpose of the trip was my sister Demi's wedding in Seattle. The weather started and ended rainy, but we had some beautiful days in between. We enjoyed time with family and friends. I didn't get many photos of Demi's wedding, since I was a bit more than upset that someone had smashed the window of my brother Rob's new car and stole my purse - during the wedding! Thankfully, Will was the photographer and he has many awesome photos of the entire evening, so I'll just wait for him to edit them and I'll post some of those later. Also, my parents celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on my sister's wedding day! Will got some nice photos of them at the reception, so I will post those later as well.

We didn't get any photos of our time spent with our good friends Nikki and Derek - but we had a great evening with them as well. We (me/Will/my parents/my sister Janelle) went to see Nikki in the play she was in - Spitfire Grill - which was in Poulsbo, just a ferry ride across the sound from Seattle. It was awesome! We spent some time checking out the waterfront then Will and I spent the night at Nikki and Derek's home that evening.

The next day Will and I took our time driving around the Olympic Peninsula and around back to Seattle (since we had to go pick up the tripod that Will left at the venue). We stopped by the Seattle Temple to snap a few photos as well. It was overall a good time.

I love my hubby. I know I was a lot to put up with on this trip - but I'm grateful he puts up with me. Thanks, Love! I love spending continuous time with him - and I'm always sad when we go back to work, but I'm grateful for the memories made.

Good Things to Come...

Fro-Yo

A few nights ago, Will and I were off to find some ice cream. After a quick stop to pay a bill at the Cherry Creek Mall, we were delighted to find this new delectable ice creamery - or should I say frozen yogurtery?

It was buffet-style frozen yogurt! Fro-Yo is coming back with a vengeance! FYI-Pink Berry is popping up all over the place in Denver it seems - and I will be going there soon to try it out as well. But this little place was called Cherry on top. Lined along the wall were awesome varieties of fro-yo including, but not limited to: Green Tea, Mango, Strawberry, Cake Batter, Peanut Butter and so on. Then, once your flavor(s) has been picked - one must go over to the buffet-style topping section and pick from the vast amount of toppings.
Will got vanilla fro-yo (boring) with Captain Crunch & Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereals, plus almonds. I personally chose cake batter fro-yo with oreo crumbs and gummy bears (because really, what is any type of ice cream without gummy bears?!).
Mmmmm.

My only complaint is that this place is very smart. They capitalized on the fact that Americans have no sense of portion control, and thus they only have one size of bowl to put the fro-yo in - LARGE. I couldn't tell how much I was putting in, when I only wanted a little. What a complaint, right? : )

Delicious. Highly Recommended.

San Antonio Pics .... Finally

Finally, here are a few of our photos from our recent trip to San Antonio. It took me a while to figure out what was happening to my photos when I tried to upload them - and I figured it out, thankfully!

Seems like I'm still relishing from our relaxing vacay to the Lone Star State, but we already have another big trip coming up this week! Seattle here we come! We leave for the Northwest Wednesday night, and will return Tuesday night. My sister is getting married next Saturday, and Will is the photographer for the Big Event. Should be some chaotic fun! More pictures will promptly be posted soon after.

Again sorry for the repetition if you have already seen these same photos on Facebook:

Will and I went down to Texas to stay with my best friend from High School, Katelyn, and her hubby Nick since we haven't seen them since our wedding, and she is due with their first baby in July! We also got to see my brother Leland and his family, since they also live in San Antonio, but we didn't get to spend much time with them since their family is battling Mono. We had a good, relaxing time visiting with everyone. We loved San Antonio!!!
Until next time...
