Baby Boy Brawn

So I'm a little lazy when it comes to blogging lately. Will and I are both so busy lately! Plus add in the fact that my computer is running suuuuper slow, it makes me not so motivated to deal with picture upload and blogging in general. But we have news:

For those who haven't heard already via Facebook (or from us directly) .... the news is finally out, WE ARE HAVING A BOY!! June 27th is the little dude's due date, making me 21 weeks preggo currently. We are thrilled. We found out October 16th, but wanted to wait until we found out the gender to make any digital announcements. October-February is a long time, folks. And I think its starting to become obvious. Yesterday a lady at Jo-Ann Fabrics asked me when my baby is due. I thought, "Is it that obvious already" - but yep. I guess so.

His little feet!
I get asked how I'm feeling quite a bit, but honestly - I feel like normal. Nothing is more unusual than normal, except I get upper back pain when I sit for long periods (meaning work is excruciating) - but otherwise I don't feel sick or anything. I have had some unusual food "cravings" I guess you could call them. Things I definitely don't normally eat. For example, my entire life I have HATED HATED HATED fast food breakfast. It would turn my stomach. Now, all of a sudden - and mostly in the past month, I have started eating Sausage Egg McMuffins from McDonald's and I love them!! Its so weird for me, but I seriously love them. Especially with milk. Secondly, I have wanted strawberry flavored ice cream/milkshakes a lot. I don't usually pick strawberry ice cream - i usually pick some sort of cookie flavored ice cream - but lately strawberry ice cream is SOOOO good. Really, those are the only 2 "weird" food things I've had so far.

I've started going back to the gym lately, since my energy is up (and I gained 10 lbs between my last 2 appointments, so that freaked me out as well) .... and well, I feel ridiculous. My shirts that used to be baggy are no longer baggy - and I'm not sure how much longer my normal gym shorts will fit and I don't want to purchase maternity gym wear, but I might have to. Plus the skinny-minis at 24 hour fitness where I work out totally make me jealous. I wish I could be working toward a "summer bod" like everyone else - but instead I'll just be a whale by the time Summer rolls around. Awesome - but really, I'm grateful this pregnancy has been so easy thus far - and that this little guy is so healthy. I'll try to remember that in a few months when I'm a huge whale. :)
As for Will, he's working super hard at work. He's trying to get ASM within a year (Assistant Store Manager) and is working toward his long-term goal of being a store manager then hopefully regional management. Also, now that we own a house he is enjoying doing little projects here and there. He also got a new iPhone 4 (Verizon, of course) which has made him super happy - since he gave up the AT&T version a year ago so we could be on the same phone plan (oh, sacrifices). : )

I've been working on lots of new hobbies, such as sewing and crocheting. I used to knit - but I've found out that crocheting is way more rewarding for me! I can actually finish projects and make things that look more intricate when in actuality, they are easier to make than if I were to knit them. My weekday evenings basically consist of laying on our lovesac, watching Grey's Anatomy on Netflix and crocheting.

That's another thing, Will and I have become Grey's Anatomy addicts. We never really watch them on TV - but decided to start from Season 1 on Netflix not too long ago - and man is it addictive! 2 Sundays ago, we literally watched 7 hours straight of Grey's. It was awesome. I actually started the show by MYSELF - so I'd have something to watch while Will was gone at work - but he got hooked into the show, now I'm not allowed to watch any episodes without him so the whole point of starting the show is kinda shot - but I'm happy we have something that we enjoy together. Especially now that I'm in lazy/pregnant mode. We get to enjoy hours and hours of tv together before the baby comes.

So basically, right now our lives consist of: 1. Work 2. Grey's Anatomy 3. Baby Stuff 4. Crocheting (for me)/iPhone-iPad (for Will) and 5. our callings at church (not necessarily in that order). I'm pretty content with life right now. I'm actually rather enjoying it. I hear that marriage can be pure bliss during a pregnancy, but it can get rather strained in the months afterwards - so I'm trying to bask in this lovely time with my husband.

Also, just as a side note, we are not sharing the name of our baby. Yes, we have THE name picked out, but that is our surprise we chose to keep to ourselves. I originally didn't want to find out the gender, but Will really really did - so we compromised by deciding the name will be the surprise. So don't ask, we're not sharing. : )

Aaaand .... finally. This is what Will and I spent our lovely Sunday afternoon doing. Making burritos! Amazing burritos. You can find the recipe from a post I did two years ago, but this time we actually doubled the recipe which made 15 burritos! We will be freezing these bad boys and savoring them over the next month (or really just as long as the hubs will let them last). Actually, 2 years ago I gave one of these to my (hispanic) co-worker and he loved them. He made me an honorary Hispanic due to my awesome burritos - and hence, he has decided to name my child Alejandro - and he refers to my baby as Alejandro in front of anyone and everyone at work. Its pretty funny, he tells everyone I'm naming the baby Alejandro - and I have to explain that no, I'm really not. I promised to bring him another one of these, and I'm sure Alejandro will stick - at least until this little guy's real name is revealed.
Well this was a super long post - but until next time, ciao!
